Circuit of Furnas
On this circuit we will visit on of the ex libris of the island of São Miguel, the enchating civi parish of Furnas, known for it's water sources both warm and cold and for the very famous Cozido on the boilers.
Leaving from the south cost, we will stop at the city of Lagoa, for a unique visit to the Factory of Pottery in São Miguel. After the visit of the city of Lagoa, we will head towards Vila Franca do Campo, the first capital of the island until 1522, when it ws destroyed by an earthquake.
We will make a visit to historical center and to the Nossa Senhora da Paz hermitage, which is located in a hill with the same name, spot where you have a panoramic view of the Natural Reserve of the Islet Of Vila Franca do Campo (crater of a subamarine volcano with about 5000 years) and it's respective town.
Continuing our tour we will go to the center of the volcano of Furnas, more precisely to the civil parish of Furnas where we will spend, pretty much our whole day, due to the possibility of having various unforgettable experiences, such as: "Poça da Dona Beija or Poça da Juventude", tasting of iron waters, visit to numerous volcanologic activities, watch the removal from the interior of the earth the famous "cozido das Furnas" situated on the margins of the Furnas lagoon, possible visitation to the Terra Nostra garden and other experiences that are unique in our little piece of paradise.
After lunch we will continue our tour, now through the north coast of the island. Stopping at the belvedere of Pico do Ferro with it's unbelievable view above the valley of Furnas.
The tea factory Gorreana will be a mandatory stopping point to taste the green or black tea, here produced. This a unique culture in Europe!
We will resume our tour with Ponta Delgada as destination with a stop at the belvedere of Santa Iria, a place where you have a panoramic view of the whole north coastline of the island.

- Departure and return to the lodging place or cruise terminal. To location outside of Ponta Delgada it may be added pick-up costs depending on the distance.

- You can perform your reservation, preferably, by e-mail using the contacts under the menu, indicating the circuits, the desired dates and the number of persons.
- Chitours will confirm your reservation with a 48 hour deadline and the deposit of 30% of the value of the reservation through bank transfer. The remaining amount shall be paid at the end of the tour directly to the tour guide. The refund of the initial deposit is only secured if you cancel until 15 days before the date expected of the realization of the tour.
